During the weekend of March 10th - 12th the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center in Boston, MA held the annual Pax East gaming convention produced by Reed Pop. This convention is a gathering for those that play PC, console, and table top games. The main show floor was separated into vendors and exhibitors and gaming. In the gaming area there were sections for pc gamers to complete in tournaments and tables for free play and tournaments for table top games. Vendors were also on hand in the gaming section to sell and demo the latest board games.
The other section was filled with vendors and exhibitors such as Xbox, Playstation, Nintendo, Blizzard Entertainment, Think Geek, Dell Gaming, and Intel to name a few. The vendors and exhibitors were all show casing their newest games and products. Fans were able to try some of the newest games and gadgets first hand. The other floors and areas of the convention center held panels, lounges for fans to relax and unwind, and meeting areas for fans to gather.
I will admit I am not a big time gamer and am out of the loop on a lot of what I saw. The convention taught me a lot about what is new in the world of gaming. There were a lot of interesting things to see and do. I can see how this has grown and become more popular over the years. This event was bigger than the last time I went back in 2015.
